Artist Statement

The work of Jacinthe Lessard-L. explores the generic aesthetics of everyday life and contemporary dwelling spaces while referring to pictorial forms from modernity. Many of her projects also investigate the nature of photography, its historical role, its so-called transparency and its relationship to the referent; what she documents with her camera is often entirely constructed in another medium.
