Yuula Benivolski likes to spend her summers in the wilderness of the Toronto Islands where she lives in a large sunny studio and collects feathers in the early mornings. She works with sculpture, photographs, video and installation and is interested in migration, tradition, ritual, acclimatization and survival.
Yuula Benivolski was born in 1980 in Moscow USSR, grew up in Northern Israel and currently lives and works between Toronto and Montreal. She completed a BFA in Photography at the Ontario College of Art and Design and is currently completing her MFA at Concordia University. Her work has been exhibited in Canada and internationally.
